I've listened to all of the other episodes and they're great! Unfortunately, I'm getting a 404 when I try to download this one.
Hey all, Something I would have liked to have heard more discussion on was the python vs ruby model of having presenters pay for themselves at conferences. Everyone seemed to come down against having presenters pay for themselves but one of the panelists (I forget who because I was listening to the program while I was on the treadmill) mentioned that he presents in order to build up his "brand" in the ruby community. This suggests to me that presenters receive a tangible benefit from presenting at conferences in addition to the warm fuzzy feeling of giving back to the community. I loved the podcast (and all the others too!)
Interesting episode, guys! I actually appreciated that the picks got compressed; I get the sense that y'all could probably do a 2-3 hour talk on all of the topics you've covered so far, and I'd definitely listen to the whole thing (but maybe over the course of a couple of evenings). Generally speaking, it's great to have something to occupy my brain while I do dishes. (=
Cool. Thanks, guys. Now I have something to listen while getting to office. :)
